I thought this home page was beautiful. It brought back memories of my mother who sadly was killed in a car crash when I was 7 and I am now 19. I really enjoyed your site. God bless you. I have not had it as rough as you, but I am a Breast Cancer survivor or 5 years April 28. Yes! I carry a donor card attached to my driver's license and my family all know how I feel about this. I am not able to s nd money to you but I am able to send to you a signed and numbered lithograph. The origional painting was done by me in watercolors. You have my permission to put it on your web site and auction it off to the highest bidder and you keep the money. Husband has not had a transplant -- "only" six heart attacks, two quadruple cardiac by-passes, one lower "fem-pop" by-pass, three implantations of pacemakers and multi blood-clotting episodes. His attitude is always terrific and positive. He is also a ast grand knight and a 4th degree. Your page is fantastic! Sends goosebumps down my spine.

My son, Caleb, had a liver transplant at 61/2 months old. He was born with a rare liver disease. Biliary Atresia prevents the excretion of bile from the liver. It affects 1 out of every 20,000 live births. On November 24th, he celebrated his first birthday. We were told that without this life-saving operation, he had a less than 20% chance of surviva after his 1st birthday! We would love to hear from others and share in your experiences. I read your story..It struck close to home, as my son Joey wanted so much to be an organ donor. June 9,1998 he was hit by a car, and lingered for two weeks before he died. Because he also had a really bad lung infection brought on by the respirator, they ere unable to use any of his organs. I know wherever he is this has bothered him as much as it did me. I,too, have an organ donor card, as do my other two chidlren. Please continue to stay well and happy:)

Jim, your story is one that touches the heart. I am glad that you were able to have the transplant you needed. The state of California provides a form for its citizens for organ donation that is attached to the back of our driveer's licenses and ID's. I am happy to say that mine is filled out, so that any of my organs that are found to be in a useful state can be sed in the event of my death to save someone else's life. My children know that this is my desire, and will see that my wishes are carried out. I have encouraged them to do the same.
