Evan and Jaron in Vanity Fair Magazine

January 1999

Raised in Atlanta by an Orthodox Jewish Family, Evan and Jaron Lowenstein were destined for menschhood: their mother brought her mah-jangg group to their first performance. After Jimmy buffet discovered them, in 1996, the twins signed a six-figure deal with Island Records which included a no-Sabbath-concert clause. Their well-recieved new album, We've Never Heard of You Either, has given them enough influence that they can now play whenever they want. "As long as we fill the place, promoters don't care," says Evan, "They don't care if we dance around naked. They book us."
