Now we've had our first Club Seattle channel in-person party. It took place on 6 February 1998, at Hiline Lanes, a bowling alley in Burien (click here for directions, in part to celebrate Vince's 30th birthday. SteveS and others had cameras there, and SteveS shot a whole roll of film, which he got processed and scanned onto a picture disk. (Where are the pictures from the others who had cameras there?) Here they are!

In case anyone wants to see the place where they missed our first party, or wants to attend a future party in the same location, here are directions to Hiline Lanes:
Address: |
15733 Ambaum Boulevard S.W. |
Phone: |
206 244 2272 |
Landmarks: |
Azteca Restaurant, Value Village |
Directions: |
From northbound or southbound I-5, take westbound Highway 518 (the Burien Freeway), toward Burien. Southbound I-405 ends by turning into Highway 518, at the I-5 interchange. Westbound Highway 518 ends with two traffic lights. The first controls traffic to and from Highway 509; ignore it. At the second, 518 turns into S.W. 148th Street. The cross street is First Avenue S. Turn left onto First Avenue S. Go south on First Avenue S. to S.W. 157th Street (just past the traffic light at S.W. 156th Street), and turn right. Go west a couple of blocks on S.W. 157th Street to Ambaum Boulevard S.W. (where it ends) Highline Lanes should be visible from there. |
Ambaum notes: |
Ambaum Boulevard S.W. bends a lot. It crosses First Avenue S. where S.W. 160th Street changes to S. 160th Street. It loops across S.W. 156th Street more than once between 4th Avenue S. and 8th Avenue S. It crosses S.W. 148th Street around S. 148th Street. Don't let it confuse you. |
