Rainy Day

Can it be:
That this rain is a kind of cleansing
Of the heart
And mind?

Can it be:
That this rain is a symbolic
Washing away of rancid thoughts
And stagnant feelings?

Can it be:
For this purging,
There needs to be
Peace of mind and
Acceptance of fate?

Can it be:
When the rain comes, as it has,
That you must be ready
For the lightness of heart and mind
That must follow?

Rainy day...
And profound thoughts...
The two must co-exist.
The rain clears the senses
And prepares you
For new challenges
For fresh ideas
And profound revelations.

It is a reminder
That nothing stays the same.

That presumed boundaries
Are washed away
And renewed;
That landmarks
Are changed;
That new paths
Are formed.

It is a forewarning of things to come
This rain...
So dreary and miserable
Gives hope for a better time,
It signifies the end
Of one tiresome journey
And the start of a new and exciting one.

Will we heed?
Will we respond?
We must...
or be left behind.
