F-R-I-E-N-D

F is for freedom, to be who you are,
R is for reliable, steady and strong,
I is for integrity, honest and true,
E is for endearing, ever caring for you
N is for nice but lots of fun too
D is for devoted, where real friends belong

Though this isn't exactly about friendship,
it is about the deep need for a friend
to be there when you need them.

FEELINGS OF THE INNER SOUL

Feelings so deeply embedded in me,
Are just part of me that the world won't see,
The pain of just living fills my heart with tears,
So many emotions I've kept hidden for years.

By writing poetry, I've found a release,
Though sometimes I still have no inner peace.
At least just expressing myself in this way,
Helps me to wake up and try to face a new day.

BUDDIES

When in life, a friend we meet,
Someone special and super sweet.
A friend is special, I realiize that,
But to a buddy, I tip my hat!
A buddy can be just like a friend,
And with them the time is great that we spend.
A buddy is just the icing on the cake,
The twinkle of the eye, somethiing you can't fake.
So here's to you, both friend and buddy,
I'm so glad you aren't like an old fuddy duddy!

It's Never Too Late

With family and loved ones and true friends, so rare,
It's never too late to show them you care.
A call on the phone, a card in the mail,
A touch of your hand, these never can fail,
In this busy world we never take the time,
We rush here and there with no reason or rhyme.

If we all take a moment each day of the year,
To stop and tell someone, "I hold you so dear,"
Then if the worst happens and this person should die,
With no regrets you can then bid them good bye.

Too often we wait, until after the fact,
To say the nice things, when with guilt we are racked.
Too little, too late - to show just how we feel,
Take a moment right now to express what is real.
With family and loved ones and true friends, so rare,
Take a moment and show them just how much you do care.

REMEMBERING

Thinking back over my life and friends I have met,
And these include some I have met on the net.
I remember times in my life which have meant so much,
And recall the friends who my life did touch.

I remember the high times when my life was great,
And friends who shared my euphoric state.
I remember the bad times when my hearrt turned to stone,
And the friends at my side so I wouldn't be alone.
I remember the days when my woes were too heavy to bear,
And the friends that helped carry them because they care.
I remember days filled with laughter, giggles and fun,
And the friends that hugged me and called me "hon".

Thinking back over my life and the friends I've met,
And with each one so many warm thoughts I get.
With all of the things in my life I recall,
Your friendship to me means the most of all.
