By writing poetry, I've found a release,
Though sometimes I still have no inner peace.
At least just expressing myself in this way,
Helps me to wake up and try to face a new day.
If we all take a moment each day of the year,
To stop and tell someone, "I hold you so dear,"
Then if the worst happens and this person should die,
With no regrets you can then bid them good bye.
Too often we wait, until after the fact,
To say the nice things, when with guilt we are racked.
Too little, too late - to show just how we feel,
Take a moment right now to express what is real.
With family and loved ones and true friends, so rare,
Take a moment and show them just how much you do care.
I remember the high times when my life was great,
And friends who shared my euphoric state.
I remember the bad times when my hearrt turned to stone,
And the friends at my side so I wouldn't be alone.
I remember the days when my woes were too heavy to bear,
And the friends that helped carry them because they care.
I remember days filled with laughter, giggles and fun,
And the friends that hugged me and called me "hon".
Thinking back over my life and the friends I've met,
And with each one so many warm thoughts I get.
With all of the things in my life I recall,
Your friendship to me means the most of all.
