Hear the musical tribute
ANTHONY "TONY" MASSANOVA, age
69, passed away April 30, 1997 in Venice, FL. He was born on
September 7, 1927 in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. Tony retired
from the Philadelphia Naval Yard after 37 years of service as a
Quality Assurance Inspector, and moved to Venice in 1976. He
delighted many people as Santa since 1957. A World War II Navy
Veteran, Tony was also a Past Commander of Catholic War Veterans
Post 387 in Philadelphia and Post 1892 of Venice, 4th Degree in
the Knights of Columbus and an Usher at Our Lady of Lourdes
Catholic Church. Tony touched many lives and is survived by his
wife of 44 years, Helen; a daughter, Rosemarie A. Re of Lisle,
Illinois; two sons, Robert J. and his wife Shirley of Venice,
Florida and Christopher E. of Tampa, Florida; a sister, Phyllis
Salvatore of Philadelphia, Pennsylvania and brother, Michael of
West Collingswood Heights, New Jersey; and 8 grandchildren:
Kimberly, Nicole, Amanda, Randy II, Kathryn, Tammy, Russell and
Corey. He is loved dearly.
