Baby Chan arrived on June 28,2002

First trimester - Week 1 - 13:

We found out about the pregnancy at week 7. Morning sickness (actually night sickness) started around week 8 and lasted toward the end of week 12. Mostly just tired at night (bedtime at 7:30pm). Mornings were actually my best times. Working was fine, but starts with the drive home and I would start to get sick. Didn't gain any weight during this phase although I started showing very early on and had to wear maternity clothes toward the end of week 11.

Second trimester - Week 14 - 27:

This is truly the best trimester. I got my energy back and was eating like crazy. I didn't have any weird cravings, just ate more of what I normally like. I gained the most weight here. And no, I'm not going to discuss how much! The baby started kicking at around 17 weeks. I remember we were at a gas station and Greg was pumping gas. I have been feeling these little pops in my belly, but I just thought they were gas. But I felt 3 pops in a row at the same spot! I knew they were kicks! So exciting. That weekend and on, this baby never stopped letting me know that it's okay in there by giving me a few punches here and there.

Third trimester - Week 28 - 40:

The baby started hiccupping at 27 weeks. So cute. I was lying on the bed one Saturday morning. Greg was fishing so I just lay there enjoying the silence. All of a sudden, I felt this rhythmic pulse on my left pelvic bone. It was too slow and regular to be heart beats or kicks. And since then, I can feel hiccups two, sometimes, three times a day! We have a drinker on our hands!

Tomorrow, 6/15/02, I start week 38. So far so good... I've started to get a lot more irregular contractions. I've gained about 35 pounds, which is pretty average. I am not nearly as hungry as a few months ago and started to stabilize on the weight gain. My feet swell up when I walk too much and when the weather heats up. I really don't remember how my belly used to look like without the stretch marks or the bulge. It also itches like crazy. At one point, I got a rash from scratching so much. Other than these small things, I don't have much to complain about. Please pray for a short and painless labor for me!
