Description: The breakup of the European Union left two trading blocs in Western Europe. The southern of these two blocs is dominated politically by France and Italy, who in turn are dominated by their powerful labor unions. Devastated economically by the trade war, these trade unions formed paramilitary organizations known as "Blue Brigades" that seized control of the government and enforced protectionist trade legislation that only made economic matters worse. Starting to recover economically, this nation is still feuding politically and economically with their neighbors to the north, and have no love for the Islamic nations of the Middle East and North Africa. The inclusion of the French Fleet and French overseas possessions like French Guiana and Reunion give this nation a global reach few others can match.
