Week 1. 21/10/02:
Your first homework assignment is to review this resource (Both
the CR ROM and Website) and answer the questions on this
page (see below).
Week 2. 28/10/02:
Your second homework task is to find examples (from home or elsewhere)
of fiction , art or film which belong to either Science Fiction,
Fantasy, Horror or Alternative Realities ) one example from each.
Week 3. You
will need to either bring along these examples, or else come prepared
to talk about them in class.
Week 4. 4/11/02:
Your third homework task is to write a letter home as if you are
on an intergalactic journey and the recipient of your letter won't
actually receive it for some days, weeks, months or years after
you've sent it.
Week 5. 11/11/02:
Your fourth homework task is to collect 3 to 5 reviews from newspapers,
magazines or the Internet (not necessarily one from each). These
reviews can be for films, novels or short stories, but they must
be specific to Fantasy, Science Fiction, Horror or Alternate Reality
genres.
Week 6. 18/11/02:
Your final homework task is to read this story and answer the
questions found in this document (shtansr.doc).
Week 7. 25/11/02:
No homework set for week 7 due to exams.
