THE STORY
This is the story of an ordinary boy with a strange "inconvenience".Each time he gets cold water over him he transforms into a girl.To undo this,he has to throw warm water over him.One day,Soun Tendo gets a letter from his old friend Genma Soatome.In the letter is written that Genma is coming back from a long journey in China with his son Ranma.Tendo is very happy to hear this as he is in search for a successor for the family dojo.so he decides to make one of his daughters his fiancé.His rebel daughter,AKANE,doesn't want to have a fiancé.And it's just going to be her who is destined to be Ranma's girlfriend...
THE WRITER
The writer,RUMIKO TAKAHASHI,has done a marvellous job combining the best elements of a humoristic,action and love story in one manga you can't miss.The story is easy to follow,it's always funny and the romantic intermezzos aren't to soft.A lot of the characters are shapeshifters:
- RANMA transforms in a girl
- SHAMPOO transforms in a cat
- RYOGA transforms in a little pig
- GENMA transforms in a panda
Some of the characters are really unforgettable like HAPPOSAï with his everlasting need for girls,Matthias,who can pull anything out of his shirt and the strange headmaster.
