My guiding light

I have chosen to believe in a higher power other than my own.
There is no proof that God exists but I do have my faith in Him.

Pascal's wager: a term associated with Blaise Pascal.This man of the past argued that even if all arguments for God's existence fail, it is still the more prudential bet to have a belief in God. The reason is if God does exist we have eternity to gain, and if God does not exist, we have lost little by believing in Him.

With an eternity to lose, how can any man believe otherwise.

I wrote the following poems on my journey toward becoming a man of faith. I ascended a grown man up from the trenches of dispare to becoming a mere child. A child of God.

"Oh the agony of my heart...I can not keep silent." (Proverbs 23:12)

• Troubled thoughts slipping through,
  
• My perception of reality is going too.
  
• Seeing the world as it used to be,
  
• Does humanity have room for a guy like me.
  
• Blured visions of the road for me,
  
• Obscured decisions, should I believe that I don't know I see.
  
• When I here voices in the air,
  
• Why should I listen, they aren't even there.
  
• Why can't someone get through to me,
  
• Remove my bindings and set me free.
  
• Am I wrong when I can't explain,
  
• When I want to be alone, me and my pain.

"And we know in all things God works for the good of those who love Him, who have been called according to his purpose." (Romans)

• Upon this day I pray of thee,
  
• That all your guidence will encompass me.
  
• Through strength and courage, sorrow and lust,
  
• Oh lord I pray of thee, guide me with thy trust.

"Your ears will here a voice behind you saying, 'this is the way, walk in it.'" (Isiah 30:21)

• I am the light in the beginning.
  
• I am the chear for the team that's winning.
  
• I am the one that has always been near.
  
• I am always there to lend an ear.
  
• I was the one who carried you.
  
• I am the faith in all that you do.
  
• I am the hope do not dispare.
  
• I am the charity, you feel when I am there.
  
  
• I am the earth, sea, land and sky.
  
• I am your courage, your convictions when you try.
  
• I am the wind that blows at your hair.
  
• I am that feeling you get, you know when I am there.
  
• I am.

"Dear children, let us not love with words or tounge,
but with actions and in truth." (1 John 3:18)

• As you ponder what you might do,
  
• Do you ever stop to think it through.
  
• In spite of how it looks to others.
  
• Tell them all that they are your brothers.
  
• Now don't worry and don't dispare.
  
• Tell them that God really does care.
  
• Tell them he will always be there.
  
• Even if you don't see eye-to-eye,
  
• Let them know who you are and the reason why.
  
• Tell them all.
