| Q: |
What happened to Lunch?
|
| AT: |
You know that Lunch went to look for Tien, right?
Well, since he was training with Chaozu and changed his training
place often, she never found him. Originally, I drew Lunch [in Volume
42], but I replaced her with #17 for a last panel in the series.

| Q: |
How did #17 and #18 become
cyborgs? |
| AT: |
Hmm... Before becoming cyborgs, they were delinquents.
Dr Gero, who was looking for healthy subjects for his experiments,
met the twins by chance. He had them kidnapped and transformed them.
Being cyborgs in spite of themselves, they developed hatred for
Gero. That's why they rebelled against him and killed him in the
series. |
| Q: |
What became of Pilaf's
gang? |
| AT: |
They never stopped making plans to take over
the world. But when Cell appeared they had to put their plans on
hold for later. Afterwords, when peace returned, they decided to
finally take some action, but Buu appeared around that time. Once
again, they had to postone their plans. |
| Q: |
How did Kurilin and #18
marry? |
| AT: |
Things happened in the seven-year interval [between
the Cell and Buu sagas]. From #18's viewpoint, Kurilin was the type
of man she had never encountered up to then, serious as much as
naive. She then began bit by bit to find him attractive. It's true
that I find myself developing this type of love story in my spirit.
Like with Bulma and Vegeta. But I prefer to keep this to myself
and to not draw it in the manga. It's because I'm so shy, y'know...
And plus it it's better to leave this matter to specialists in this
subject, like my friend Masakazu Katsura (famous for DNA2,
I"s, and Video Girl Ai), for example.

| Q: |
What differences are there
between the two teenage Trunkses? |
| AT: |
To be truthful, future Trunks and present Trunks
are totally different. The first lives in a modest manner with only
his mother for family, and the other is spoiled in a luxurious house,
under the influence of his father. You can already determine that
their environments are not the same, which explains the difference
of character between the two Trunkses. But it's true that future
Trunks has a lot more female fans while the present one is more
popular among younger readers. It's still interesting to see that
the environment in which a man lives can influence his character.
For this, Trunks is a good example. |
