The concepts of HRD aim at developing employees to realize their potentials, and competencies for the ultimate organizational growth. HRD concerns in transforming the people in order to achieve a desirable work culture. Organizational development is especially the aspects of employer and employee relationship with the focal point on individual development. The principles of Yog on the other hand aim at the process of mastery over mind.
Yog brings out the total personality development at physical, mental, emotional, and spiritual level. The practice of Yog eliminates egoism, selfishness, and helps individual to grow in positive thinking. Though the goal of Yog is the attainment of divinity, the benefits gained out of Yog facilitate HRD to achieve its goal without effort.
The philosophy of Yog speaks of the motivation for work. Motivation is derived out of inner peace and joy. Sacrifice and good actions are the natural result. The inner joy is derived from peace, love, compassion, sympathy, and welfare of humanity. When one works for his/her "inner joy" the work itself becomes the motivating force. In the process, selfishness and egoism vanish and one is able to express himself/herself for a common cause. |
