The College Years

Welcome to my wonderful life at Bucknell University! Yay! It's only just begun and, thus far, I am having quite a party. Everyone is pretty cool and nice. My roommate, Alyson, is as well (she is a clone of me!). I'm in the Humanities Residential College portion of Bucknell. I was kinda put into it by accident...I didn't really sign up for the college, I signed up for the class. Confused? Let me explain...at Bucknell there are six residential colleges. Everything from Arts to Technology. You live with the people in your specific college and do basically everything with them. But most importantly, you have one main class with them revolving around the college that you are in. So, yeah, I didn't sign up for the college, just the class, and they kinda stuck me in here. But, in retrospect, I wouldn't have had it any other way!
I really don't have much to update at this point. No pictures, some quotes though. Okay, the web page may have slowed down for the moment but I have not. I've been out and about since I last wrote last. I've been to Philadelphia to see the Marching Band at championships (no Giants Stadium this year) a couple of weeks ago. And I was in NYC about a month ago. Not like going to New York is anything new for me but being situated in Lewisburg for so long I forgot how much I missed it. The Humanities College went as a group trip to see the Met and Rent. Yay Broadway! There I proved to David and Rich that I am not a tourist (as I showed off my jaywalking skills across Times Square...hee hee!).
As for classes, they are going well. I continue to like my Humanities class...it's interesting and I enjoy the works we are reading. Right now we are reading the Bible. It's nice because I've never actually sat down and read the Bible before. So what's with Lot and his daughters??? Oh my God (no pun intended)! Russian is hard, very hard. I don't think I'm going to continue with it but I'm happy that I tried it because isn't that what college is all about? It's about trying new things and seeing what works and what doesn't. And Russian...well, it's not my cup of tea. I think I'll be taking French again sophomore year. Linguistics is also going well. And I'm actually starting to like Geography a little bit more...it's become tolerable (except for the three and a half hour lab Tuesday mornings). Tomorrow is registration for the spring semester. If all goes well I will be taking Art, Nature, and Knowledge (the sequel to Myth, Reason, and Faith...that Humanities class), Organismal Biology, Introduction to the Bible, and Costume Design. And as of five o'clock this evening all of my classes are still open! Whoo-hoo! I might get all first choices!

I will try to keep this part of my page updated as much as I can but I am a busy college girl now!

Yes, by the way, this is "Build Me Up, Buttercup" playing right now. It has become the unofficial theme song of our hall so it only seems appropriate to be the start of the college years portion of my page! : )
