Aargh is our Staphylococcus Aureus rat. He is by far the largest of the three rats, and is also the most aggressive. He does not like people and is quite cranky when he is weighed. He is the only rat that may pose a threat of biting.
02/19/01- Day One
* Aargh has a mass of 167.5 grams.
* He was given 30 grams of the seed mixture and 8 oz of water.
02/20/01-Day Two
* Aargh has a mass of 190 grams.
* He had 9.4 grams of food left (with shells and waste) and ate 20.6 grams.
* He drank about 1.6 centimeters of water
*He was given 29.6 grams of the new rat pellets and 8 oz of water.
* we have noticed the Aargh has a brown discoloration on his testicles that should ve noted now before the experiment is begun.
**NOTE- we have changed the food of the rats from the original seed mix to a rat pellet diet. Also, the bedding has been changed from newspaper to cedar shavings.
02/21/01-Day Three
* Aargh had a mass of 193.9 grams today.
* He had 9.59 grams of the pellet food left over and ate 20.01 grams.
* Aargh drank approximately 1.8 centimeters of water.
* He was given 29.9 grams of pellets and 8 oz of water.
* We have been noticing the Aargh has been sneezing occassionally, but is not acting listless or sickly.
