Music » Blink 182 » Dude Ranch

Blink 182 - Dude RanchOkay, this is probably THE album most responsible for getting me into music. Up until the time I purchased this album, I only like a very select few bands, and I wasn't really into buying albums all the time. If you want to know the whole story, I'll tell you. If you don't, then read it anyway because I know that since I am the only one ever on this site, that I WILL want to read it. Anyway, I ordered some CD's from a mail thing, where you get 15 or so free CD's, and one of them happened to be Blink 182 - Enema of the State. This, in combination with Lit - A Place In The Sun, was the album that really started the ball rolling, but it didn't pick up until I bought Dude Ranch. Either way, I had been listening to music on el headphones at work, and I was looking for something a little more upbeat/different from rap, which was what I had a lot of at the time. And by a lot, I mean about 15 albums or so. Anyway, so I decided to listen to Lit and Blink, and after a while I really liked both of the albums. Especially Blink. So I bought Dude Ranch. Then, I started to read all their thank you's and stuff, and found some more bands there. And I started looking on the Internet and in magazines and crap. Then I discovered probably hundreds of bands, and the rest is pretty much my history. The other part of the story is how I got into liking bands such as Led Zeppelin and stuff, and that would be because I started learning to play guitar, and it's weird, because once you pick up and instrument, you really start to like music that is very heavy in said instrument. Okay, about the actual album.

Yeah, so this album is probably my favorite "punk" album. I put that in quotations because it really isn't all too punkish in its truest sense, but I still like to think it is. Okay, every song except for Waggy (I think) is awesome. I really like the speed, the aggression, and the hooks. Umm yeah, I would like to say now that Blink 182 is probably my favorite band, although they sometimes get some very stiff competition from Jimmy Eat World, Incubus, and the Beatles. Yeah. But usually I always come back to them.

Stand out tracks: Dammit, Untitled, Josie, Degenerate, Lemmings, I'm Sorry.

That's it. Laters.
