Okay, I bought this album probably a few months after I purchased Clarity, but then I decided that it wasn't quite that good. I really have a problem with doing that. I'll listen to an album a huge amount and then I won't listen to it for a really long time because I've used up my max. capacity for el album. Oh well. Any way, this album is a lot different from Clarity because it is a little harder. It would be considered by someone like myself to be a huge influence on the bands that would be classified as a "Screamo," because it has that yelling sound and such. Now that doesn't mean that it is quite as far as a screamo album. They yell, but it has a lot of the pop sensability of Clarity or Bleed American, although not quite as much as the latter. Any way, I really like this album. If you listen to Clarity about 300 times or so, and then listen to Static Prevails a whole bunch, you can tell how they progress. There are several parts of songs where I can hear Clarity shining through on this album. Really cool, and it has several great tracks. Good band.
Stand out tracks: Thinking That's All, Rock Star, Claire, Call It In The Air, Seventeen, Episode IV, Digits, Caveman, World Is Static, In The Same Room, Robot Factory, Anderson Mesa.
Almost as good as its brother, this album is freakin' awesome.
