There are many sources of porn on the web like chat rooms, search engines, eGroups, newsgroups, AVS lists and the like. To get the collection started, there are some mammoth sites that will beef up your collection in a hurry. For the serious pornographer, the use of special programs makes acquiring pix much easier. Finally, if you want some assurance you can find a pic after it's been added, you should have some system of storing them.

This is a work in parts which will cover these all these topics. The working outline, listed below, will be modified as new topics suggest themselves.

1.2.2. Password sites -- sites that promise free access to paysites, but it's a mixed bag

1.2.3. Lists with links to sites -- It's a tedious job, but it can be fun because you'll find some places you would have never found otherwise.

1.3. The newsgroups: a guide to the perplexed on how to download from the many newsgroups available on the web; there is a special section on applications that will make it all easier.

3. Tools to make the work lighter (click on link to a review of each of these applications)

• ACDSee -- a pic viewer par excellence! You can view single pix, run a slide show, crop pix, adjust color balance, send pix and mount thumbs onto a temporary site.

 
• Fetch! -- a kind of browser that allows you to download an entire page of pix or an index with a just a few clicks.

 
• d'peg -- this app will zip through a folder of pix and display those that appear to be duplicates; it's the easiest way to get some free space on that hard drive.

 
• urlybird -- a small and free app to keep track of the sites you want to visit again when you have more time

 
• apicview -- a tricky app that will display pix that are named sequentially, like pic01.jpg, pic02.jpg... This is another way to download a site when the web master won't let you use Fetch!

 
• Gravity -- an app that takes the drudgery out of surfing the newsgroups

 
• SBNews -- a newsgroup reader for the indolent and cyber-impaired
