How We Met - If you are here you probably already know about Don P. I don't remember exactly how we met. Don when you descover this maybe you can enlighten me. In those days I was all business. Don, was my layout designer counterpart. I'm not sure, maybe I taught him everything he knew about layout in those days. One thing is for certain, he taught a few things that nobody ever knew that they wanted to know about, and all of our lives are richer for knowing Don.
I remember that we were kids together in a galaxy not far from here. Things like splashing around in a kiddy pool with Don on a hot summers day are still fresh in my mind.
I remember my boss complaining that we spent too much time talking. One thing about Don is to know him you have to talk to him.
What's he made outta - If you ever accidently slammed into Don, you would realize that he's not like other people, he's protected by a force field or maybe made out of concrete or some space age material or something. And he is definately fueled by some nucear power source. Don's old buddies are the guys you would invite over if you wanted to do something like pick up your house and move it onto its new foundation.
You're gonna have fun, even if it kills ya - One day we were playing frisby lunchtime at Hoyt Farm. I remember that the frisby, hurled about 1/4 mile by Don was drifting just out of my reach. I was running as fast as I could when I ran out of park, my inability to deal with the changing terrain and the guard rail at the edge of the park were more than I could handle. I didn't know that you could get hurt that bad without being run over by a car. Don literaly saved my life by getting a bomb pop from the ice cream truck and sticking it on my head.
The last bachelor party - Don's bachelor party was the one that made me quote the phrase "You are only allowed to attend one bachelor party after you have children." My only recollection of the event is Don laughing hysterically at the Tatooed lady, getting thrown out of places that I can't remember going into, and of course not being allowed into places that I wouldn't want to go into in the first place. I don't remember going from place to place and I surely don't remember how I got home.
Fantasy or realaty - Don makes it happen. Entrapaneur businessman, works where the money is, builds his own house, four wheel drive conversions. While I ponder things in my mind - Don is out there doing them. While I'm playing it safe, Don's doing it.
Summing up Don - Well sorry it just can't be done.
Let's get together - Don, Maria, Donald, Derek - We've drifted apart over the years, time marches on and it's difficult enough keeping in touch with your immediate family. I look forward to seeing you all soon.
