Owl's Head Light - Owl's Head, Maine

This lighthouse station was built in 1825 and is just south of the Rockland Breakwater Light and the Rockland Harbor Southwest Light. The keeper's house, like many, is privately owned and not open to the public. The grounds, however, are easily accessed with parking available.

If you feel up to it, you may climb the many steps up to the tower and be rewarded with quite a view from a fairly high vantage point (for a lighthouse). Unfortunately, the day on which we visited was overcast and hazy, so we do not have any good photographs of the view.
