Well with the diamond
in his possession and with practically no one to tell. I felt like I had
to do it sooner then later, I couldn't stand the continuous anxiety it
caused.
On Thursday, April 12th I planned to pop the question.
Here is what the plan was.... Call Jenny and tell her that I changed
my mind about going home for Easter weekend and that I wanted to go that
night, so we could get the 6.5 hour drive over with.
Well I had zero intentions of going home....
I also told her we would exchange Easter baskets before we leave so
we don't have to wait until we return.
So I showed up at the apartment around 6:00. She was still getting ready.
I had my Easter basket in hand as she expected. I called her out in the
living room to check out what I had gotten for her. She looked and saw
some things, but didn't really look close enough to see the ring just beneath
the surface of the grass. I then grabbed the ring, got on my knee and told
her I loved her and asked her to marry me. She looked at me with a blank
stare for a moment. Like, um what you do'in, stop joking around I am trying
to get ready face, then she asked "Are you for real?!" Then she said "Yes
of course."
Then we called our parents and told them the wonderful news. They were
all very happy to welcome us into their families. While Jenny spoke to
her mom, I told her to let her mom know we weren't going to be home that
night.
After the phone calls ended I told Jenny to pack her bags for the Easter
weekend, we would be leaving very soon. We headed west towards Pennsylvania
and when we got into PA we exited towards the Poconos. A short time later
we checked into Caesars Pocono Palace Resort for a wonderful evening in
this honeymooners resort.
