10. More Sightseeing

Thursday - drove around the Chengju Lake sightseeingWe visited a period drama film set which was much less tacky than I anticipated. It gave quite a good impression of what ancient villages must have been like.


The lake was formed when the dammed the river 15 years ago. It a popular area for film sets, maybe cos it's the only place in Korea where you wouldn't have modern things like signs and aerials in the background.

They had to move 10 villages and they moved about 20 historic buildings to one park. It was quite interesting, but all these type places in Korea are quite similar. We couldn't do a cruise on the lake cos it wasn't the weekend there weren't enough people.
