WWFOOFing Diary at Angsung Farm, Korea

11 Friday Angsung Area Village Olympics
Collected oak leaves then we went to town to see a festival. It turned out to be a village olympics with 12 local villages taking part in a competition of different sports.
Each village had set up an awning. We joined the other people from Hya Village. The woman had set up a cooking area and were serving Korean onion and octupus pancakes. The men were already drinking soju at 10.30am !
Most of the people there were pensioners. Some of them brought traditional musical instruments
There were quite a few different sports : mixed volleyball, kick-volley, Sherum (Korean wrestling), women's sherum which is unusual, throwing sticks, running, group skipping, women's hoola hoop and the cilmax was the game : who can hold a 20Kg bag of fertilizer above their head the longest.
There was a lot of hanging around during which I tried to avoid cups of soju pressed on me by the old men.

It was kind of quaint. People seemed to take it quite seriously - arguing with the referee etc. And of course by 4 in the afternoon everyone was quite drunk !
