138 Daegu City

After 1 week at Mr Ahn's farm I left to visit his brother in Daegu City. He is teacher in a private school and lives in a high rise in a new suburb

the city council are keen to promote the city so every day they run free tours of local sites. There are 8 routes. My tour took me to more mountains and temples so to me it wasn't so interesting,
unphoto imagine : People kneeling in front of a giant Bhudda statue
praying for a male baby or good exam results etc

but what was interesting that there was an english speaking guidewoman just for me so I was able to ask her lots of questions.
Sun - Andong We went to the folk museum which gave very good explanations of many Korean customs and traditions. And a visiting caligrapher wrote my name in Hangul script.

We went to another historic village, but it was so crowded and no different from the other traditional villages I have seen.

Then went to the mask drama festival some interesting stands and friendly people. but the same candy sellers, and markets like other festivals.

Mon - went to the traditional medicine (Han Yak museum ) I learnt that it only became organised 400 years ago when a Korean wrote a book about it and since then Daegu has been a centre for Han Yak markets.
unphoto imagine : I walked around the downtown
saw many interesting things like the fruit sellers barrows equipped with loud speakers and tiny metal workshops, markets, country women kneeling in front of their $30 baskets of lettuce in front of $100m glass tower office buidings
