Sat - Travelled to Samchok loooked around. Not so exciting, but a good feeling as not so crowded and more remote from big cities like Seoul. It seems the government is spending some money beautifying the area; there's a new museum and nice waterfall overlooking the river.. too nice in fact it's completely artificial ! What a waste of energy. Bought some new shoes, looked around the museum ..not bad. Then tried to find an ATM but none of them would work with my card. Then travelled down the coast which looked very nice indeed, but I gyess it's different in summer when maybe there are too many people. ..to sleep in a minbak in Wondok. From there I will head inland to Taebaek .

Sun - Travelled with Lee Chol Su from Wondok no bus so hitchhiked, Lucky to get a ride from Mr Lee Chol Su. He works in Sulawasi Indonesia and is doing a bit of tourism since he will not be back in Korea for 3 years. We drove down nice cliff valley, saw wooden watermill with wood tiles, saw waterfall 7 women were doing some sort of ceremony ...praying for good university exam results.. Drove to Taebaek city ...couldn't find ATM Then ..visited the Coal Museum in Taebaeksan NP..Winter is here suddenly it's very cold, Lunch - Jhaja Myeon up to Sabuk and up side road interesting valley Kwangdaegok (Dong Myon) unphoto imagine : fields of rotting cabbages We dove past a lot of them, Mr Lee said they are not worth harvesting cos of fall in price due to WTO, Molundae - a spectacular cliff view Hwa-am - a "Disneyland" cave complex... but quite interesting cos was a real gold mine ...to Chongson Town I found a Yoinsuk and walked around I passed a Mokyoktang (public Bathhouse) with last of my money I tried it out, but it wasn't so interesting ..very functional just a lot of naked men getting washed and one large hot bath ..not my scene... and not as exotic as the places in Japan and Muslim countries. .

Mon - No Money Left ! Again there was no ATM in Jongson that worked with my card and I had no money left so I had to hitch hike to Jechon one truck driver insisted on buying me Jhaja Myeon for lunch In Jecheon at the 5 th bank I managed to get some money. But the town wasn't really interesting. .

Tuesday - I decided to check out Wonju - but nothing interesting. slept in Yeoju .

I had hoped to get lucky and find an interesting project, but nothing; Jechon, Wonju and Yeoju were just boring cities. So I decided to take up an invitation to visit another small village near Angsung Farm where I had stayed before.
