Sun- decided to try the youth hostel at Seonunsa to meet people but no-one there so I camped.

I walked around the park and up to a huge Buddha carving and higher to where you can see the sea

Mon - woke up in my hammock at 5.30 cars and people were pouring in to the other side of the park. I thought it was a special dawn religious ceremony, when I checked it was actually 100s of camera nuts trying to get a good photo of the morning mist around a particular type of flower (another cultural difference)

Because the masses would be heading back to Seoul after the Chusok holiday I decided to stay put and have a day for reading/writing.

I was sitting nearby the entrance and tourist info reading Agatha Christie, and about to get up and get some info when someone walked over to me."Are you Stewart Green" It was Pak, Kyeong Suk. My friend from Gochang. In 2001 I was in Gochang I met her and she spent a day guiding me around the festival and generally spoiling me the way Korean people do. I had not seen her since, and hadn't emailed her as I hadn't expected to be near Gochang and didn't have her email, but she recognized me. Turns out she is studying for her masters in History and 2 days/week she works in the tourist office in Soenunsa. What a surprise ! She was really kind again, she spent the day showing me around the area and spoiling me.

I decided next I'll head to Hwaseong to see if I could find this commune called Sanan Village.
