¤   So, what the hell is Stop It Boys?

Put simply, we are a group of people from North Queensland, Australia, the majority being the foundation students of a local high school.  These days, most of us are either working or studying at uni.  We have heaps of awesome memories from our years at school, and we all still try to catch up whenever we can to create even more.

¤   But "Stop It Boys" is a pretty stupid name for a group of friends, isn't it?

The actual name "Stop It Boys" came from when we (most of us anyway) were in grade 8.  Brendon had a fight with another kid (we will call him "Fuckin' Dick Head") during maths one day.  So there was Brendon and Fuckin' Dick Head in class, trying to beat the shit out of each other, when the teacher naturally tried to break them up.

Our teacher at the time spoke with a funny accent and all she did was yell out "STOP IT BOYS, STOP IT!"  It was a real laugh - you had to be there.  Gavin could do a very good impression of this teacher, so from then on, whenever any of us were told to stop misbehaving he would yell out "STOP IT BOYS!" at the of his lungs and everyone else would follow suit.  It was very entertaining to be in grade 8, getting away with making fun of teachers.  However, it wasn't until this web site was made that we started referring to ourselves as the Stop It Boys.

That's it really, but I guess you had to be there to actually understand the significance of it!

¤   OK then, so what's with the web site?

Stop It Boys - The Web Site - was first made on a Wednesday, February 17th, 2001.  It was set up as a way to  show the world what our "group" get up to and to humourously pay out on people in a safe, caring environment (the Internet).  Unfortunately, however, some people did not agree with the content on the site and complained to the principal of the school.  As a result, the best part of our content was deleted, which was shortly followed by the whole site being taken off.  After vowing never to be involved with the SIB site again, the original Webmaster allowed a new Webmaster to take over and put us back on the Net.   It was decided that all content should be censored, that no surnames should be stated anywhere on the site and that the name of our school should not be mentioned.

Slowly but surely, SIB got bigger and better to the point that it has now become part of our everyday life.  Many of our fans made pages that were been posted onto the site, such as the One Liners, Sproggermutherfucker and Phil's Funnies.   It didn't take long for the original Webmaster to break his vow and start working on the site again.  As many people have seen, we are even confident enough to advertise the site through the stickers on the backs of our cars!

For a while we were updating the site two or three times a month, however these days - due to the pressures that life inflicts on us outside school - we are not able to update SIB quite so often.  That is definitely not to say that we've stopped working on the site, it's just that we have nowhere near as much time on our hands as we used to.  But when we do have an update, the material will range from past memories to audio clips from our last camping trip to photos from our last party to stupid quotes that people have said lately.  And we will endevour to keep up the Stop It Boys spirit for quite some time to come!

¤   Cool!  So how how can I get involved?

You can get involved by simply by signing the Guestbook and saying g'day!  We usually have stuff like silly little competitions and polls, so feel free to involve yourself with them.  If you have any content that you think would suit SIB, leave your name and email in the Guestbook and we'll get back to you.

¤   So, to conlude:

Stop It Boys is just a group of people who like to harmlessly laugh about each other.  It doesn't mater if you are black, white, homosexual or just plain dumb, people are still going to put shit on you and Stop It Boys is the place to do so!
