Even though Stop It Boys has only been a web page since 2001, the legend of Stop It Boys has actually been around since 1997.  The two greatest traditions of Stop It Boys are the “Pole Root” and the “Space Man."

¤   Pole Root?   Sounds harmful!

Indeed it is.

For starters, the Pole Root consists of the person who is going to be Pole Rooted, an actual pole or tree (in the case of a tree it would be called a tree root) and about 4 people to actually give the person the Pole Root.  The amount of people depends on the weight and physical strength of the person who is being Pole Rooted.

The basic Pole Root is executed by each PRG (Pole Root Giver) grabbing onto one limb of the PRR (Pole Root Receiver).   The PRR is then run up, down, back, forth and into the pole (or tree) until the PRG’s are sick of it (they have broken the record), the PRR breaks free or a teacher obviously concerned with the PRR’s future sex life breaks it up.

¤   History of the Pole Root:
The Pole Root started back in primary school where one of Stop It Boys Webmasters held the record of 4 in a lunch break.

¤   Current record holder:
Eric now holds the record at 11 pole roots (and one arse drag) in one lunch break.

¤   Most age-old tradition of the Pole Root:
The words “POLE ROOT” are yelled out by the PRR’s as the Pole Root is given.

¤   The most famous Pole Root:
The most famous Pole Root is Gilbertfest; even though no attempts so far have succeeded, we still all have a good laugh.

¤   The Space Man

The Space Man is where a bin (either empty or containing rubbish) is put on top of someone’s head.  Then the SMG (Space Man Giver) belts the bin which echo’s inside, causing great pain and discomfort to the SMR's (Space Man Receiver's) head.

¤   History of the Space Man:
Space Men started back in primary school.

¤   Current Record Holder:
There is no known record for Space Man's, but a kid called Derek used to get alot.

¤   Most age-old tradition of the Space Man:
The words "Space Man" are yelled out by the SMG when he or she belts on the bin.

¤   Most famous Space Man:
The ones we used to give Derek where pretty cool.
