Abstract The world has seen numerous amounts of myths about cures for cancer. One myth that has become popular is the myth about how sharks do not get cancer therefore they could be the answer to finding the cure for cancer. This myth has turn out to be a possible real answer to fight against cancer. Since the early 1980s and 1990s, scientists have been looking into sharks and their cartilage as a possible solution to the problems of cancer. Sharks have been known for their high resistance to diseases and their ability to protect themselves from deadly diseases. But with previous experiments, new hope was found in shark cartilage and with that hope came new medicines for patients with cancer. This paper is to inform people the possible and false cures that sharks could give cancer patient; and also the consequences of looking for those cures. Sharks and other species, plants and things are still been researched to find that cure that we everyone is hoping for. |
