>> Adeline Wenyi Adeline made her first trip to India in 2000 where she spent 3 weeks with children in a neighbouring slum (Lingarajpuram). This was a group of children under the care of Don Bosco Salesians and Sisters in Bangalore. Subsequently, Adeline went to Trivandrum-Kerala, in late 2001 to early 2002 and early 2003 to spend time with Don Bosco's street children and to further understand the nature of the problems and difficulties in reaching out to this group of children. Her time there has also allowed her to familiarise herself with Don Bosco's activities with children, youths, women and the community. She is currently organising a group trip (youths and adults) to Trivandrum to give them the opportunity to help and look into ways in which they could better contribute to existing projects. Professionally, Adeline provides mentoring services for children, adolescents and families. Her first mentoring exposure was in 1997 when she received training and experience in the UK. Adeline is a mentor to several families residing in Singapore from various international and local backgrounds and nationalities. Her intervention methods are play-therapy oriented, using a combination of psychodynamic, gestalt and object relations modalities. Alongside psychologists and educators, she works with children and adolescents who have difficulties in adjustment, behavioural, motivational and school problems, and parents in conflict. Adeline also conducts workshops for children, adolescents and parents in areas of personal and emotional growth. She is a counsellor and mentor at a local secondary school. Adeline is the Director of Mentoring Programmes and Trainer at Growthworks. She is the Doodler at doodlescomealive, a brand of functional art. >> Sheila Adefuin Sheila visited Don Bosco in Trivandrum in 2001 with Adeline. It was her first experience being with the street children. It was indeed an eye-opening experience. "Despite the poverty, these children had so much to share." The trip gave her an insight to the nature of street children and their lives which she hopes to being greater awareness to people. Sheila is also helping to raise funds for the displaced children in Mt. Pinatubo in the Philippines. It is part of the Good Shepherd Community charity programme. Professionally, Sheila produces tv commercials, documentaries, animations and organises corporate events. She is the Marketing Director of Bugs at Work, and the Juggler at doodlescomealive. >>Pamela Lee Recently graduated with a degree in Business Administration, she is now working at a children's education centre as its centre manager. Pamela has been a dedicated player at Charity Bingo since 2001 and has contributed so much through her enthusiasm. Pamela has plans to go to Trivandrum to spend time with the street children in 2004. Pamela is the Runner at doodlescomealive. >>Gwendolyn Wenli The
older sister of Adeline, she has been a trooper and driver at all Charity & Awareness
Drive. She has been the consecutive winner of Golf Balls (the same
pack of
golf balls) for two years and she is hoping
to pass them on to a lucky winner this year. Gwen is the Director of
