Dudley Dursley

Dudley Dursley is Harry's cousin and son of Vernon and Petunia Dursley. Dudley is described as "blonde, pink, and porky" and he is just that. He is a spoiled brat and he gets whatever he wants. Dudley plays very little sports, yet he lists his favorite as "Harry Hunting." Dudley attends Smeltings School. Harry does not like Dudley and vice versa. 

Petunia Dursley

Petunia is Harry's aunt. She is a skinny and long-necked woman who loves Harry very much. Yea right... The only things she loves are her husband, Vernon, her son, Dudley, and hating Harry. She claims to view her sister, Lily Potter, as a freak, but I think its jealousy.  

Vernon Dursley

Vernon Dursley is the uncle of Harry Potter. He took Harry under his wing when Harry was left on his doorstep when he was a baby. Vernon works at Grunnings (A Drill Company) He prized possession is his son, Dudley. Vernon hates Harry with a passion as does his wife, Petunia, Harry's mothers  Muggle ( non-magic folk) sister.

Argus Filch

Argus Filch is the Caretaker at Hogwarts. You will find him most of the time looking to punish students for being places they shouldn't be. He is often with his cat, Ms. Norris. Also, Filch claims to know Hogwarts history inside and out. Filch hates all Hogwarts students because he is a Squib (pureblood with no magic)

Seamus Finnegan

Seamus is always trying to conjure up some new spell every day. Yet, they never seem to really work. Actually they always end up exploding in his face, leaving him the object of everyone's laughter

Hermione Granger

Hermione Granger is one of Harry's two best friends. She is a book worm who hates getting into trouble. She is a Gryffindor just like Harry. She is the only daughter of 2 dentists. Hermione lists her biggest fears as: trolls, failing an exam, and You-Know-Who. 

Rubeus Hagrid

Hagrid is the Keeper of Keys and Grounds at Hogwarts. A while back Hagrid went to Hogwarts, yet he left due to some "personal reasons" Since Dumbledore is a forgiving man, he let Hagrid have a second chance by granting him Keeper of The Keys and Ground. Hagrid knows that he cannot mess up again. Hagrid is also the teacher of Care of Magical Creatures. He loves dragons and all other magical beasts. Hagrid is a very, very large man. He is also very trustworthy, loyal, and honest. Dumbledore recalls saying "I would trust Hagrid with my life."

Hedwig

Hedwig is Harry's snow owl.   She was bought at Eeylop's Owl Emporium in Harry's first year by Hagrid. Hedwig is always delivering notes to and from Harry. She is Harry's only companion when he goes home for the summer with the Dursleys. She is very reliable and devoted to her deliveries.

Angelina Johnson

Angelina Johnson plays the position of Chaser on the Gryffindor Quidditch Team.

Lee Jordan

Lee Jordan is a Gryffindor student and is a good friend of Fred/George Weasley. He sometimes helps them in the pranks they pull. Lee is a commentator for all of the Quidditch games. 

Neville Longbottom

Neville is not what you'd call "The sharpest knife in the drawer." He is one of those people that if he were picked on, he would just sit there and take it. He never sticks up for himself. Yet, it just goes to show, that the one time he DID stick up for himself he earned 10 pts to Gryffindor, enough to put them passed Slytherin for the House Cup. To tell a little about him, he lives with his grandmother and his pet toad, Trevor. 

Draco Malfoy

Draco is the youngest member of the esteemed Malfoy family, following in his father Lucius' footsteps who now holds the prestigious position of Standing Officer of the Ministry of Magic. Draco is a first year Slytherin student and he and his faithful sidekicks Crabbe and Goyle are always to be seen together making their presence felt wherever they go. He is arch enemy to Harry Potter and all those who befriend him.

Luscious Malfoy

The father of the esteemed Malfoy family, he gave the diary to Ginny Weasly, and also tried to get Dumbledore fired, his son Draco is in Harry's year.

Minerva McGonagall

Professor Mcgonagall is the Headmistress of Hogwarts. She is also the Head of The Gryffindor House, and she teaches Transfiguration. She is an animagus (she can turn in to a cat). McGongall is known to be very strict, yet she is always making the right decisions.

Ms. Norris

Ms. Norris is the watch- cat for caretaker Argus Filch. She was the first one to be attacked when the Chamber of Secrets opened. 

Professor Quirrell

Professor Quirrell is the Defense Against The Dark Arts Teacher at Hogwarts in Book 1. Quirrell is known to have a very strong stutter. When we usually see Quirrell, he is in some deep talk being threatened by Snape. He is also one of the very few Wizards who has encountered the Vampires of the Black Forest and lived to tell about it. 

Tom Riddle

Tom Riddle was a Slytherin student 50 years ago, he tried to blame the death of student 'Moaning Myrtle' on Hagrid's pet spider, Aragog.  Tom Riddle's diary was give to Ginny Weasly, trying to get her to open the Chamber of Secrets. 

Scabbers

Ron's pet rat, in book 3 (I think, I can't remember) Ron finds out Scabbers is a spy for Voldemort.

Severus Snape

Professor Snape is the current Potions Professor at Hogwarts. It is well known though, that he wants to become the Defense Against The Dark Arts professor. He is also the Head of the Slytherin House. It seems that Harry never really likes Snape, nor does Snape like him back. Yet, in some way, they end up helping out each other in the end in a sly way.

Alicia Spinnet

Alicia Spinnet is a Gryffindor student. She plays Chaser on Gryffindor Quidditch Team.

Professor Sprout

Professor Sprout is the Hobology Teacher at Hogwarts, she is also head of Hufflepuff House.

Fred/George Weasley

Fred and George are the jokesters in Hogwarts. They are always conjuring up something new to trick someone into doing something just for a good laugh.  One day they wish to open their own joke shop. They are also beaters on the Gryffindor Quidditch Team.

Ron Weasley

Ron Weasley is Harry's best friend. He is one of the many well-known Weasleys in Hogwarts. He is expected to do great things by following in his brothers' footsteps. He has 5 brothers, a sister, and 2 parents. Ron and his family are not the richest of families. His robes have been passed down from his brothers since his family cannot afford new robes. Ron's likes include Wizard's Chess, sweets, and the Chudley Cannons Quidditch  Team. Ron also has a pet rat, Scabbers. 

Oliver Wood

Oliver Wood is the Gryffindor Quidditch Captain. He plays keeper.  He is 5th year student in Book 1, yet he is still around in Book 4. (Mistake on JK's part, but she says he was held back a year)
