With a background in sociology and anthropology from the University of
the Philippines, Jarius Bondoc started his
journalism career as an entertainment magazine writer. Later he shifted
to the more serious world of newsmagazine writing, giving him the first
taste of dealing with hard news and investigative pieces. Bondoc later
went on to help found landmark publications like Observer, Daily
Globe and Today as editor and columnist. He has garnered
numerous awards, including the prestigious Rotary Club of Manila journalist
of the year award for his exposé on the Garchitorena land scam.
As Isyu publisher, he exposed the multi-billion PEA-Amari
land scam. Bondoc currently writes the column “Gotcha” for the Philippine
Star.
