Abi Word - The Abi
Word processor is the fist application produced by the AbiSource project (www.abisource.com).
Besides working with files in its own format (.abw and .zabw), AbiWord can import files in
Microsoft Word and several other formats.
KOffice - The KOffice pckage
contains a set of office productivity applications designed for the KDE Desktop. It includes
a word processor (KWord), spreadsheet (KPresenter), and a diagram drawig program (KChart).
These applications can be run seperately or within the KOffice Workspace.
StarOffice- The StarOffice Office
productivity suit contains application for word processing, spreadsheets, presentaions, graphics,
email, news & charting. It was created to run on Linux systems, but it runs in several other
environments as well. It can import & export a variety of Microsoft file formats. It is owned by
Sun Microsystems, which unlike other Linux applications sells it as a commercial product.
