There are sevral video players for Linux of Winch the two most popular are XINE & RealPlayer.

XINE The Xine Player is excellent for playing a variety of video & audio Formats.

Xine supports a variety of video & audio formats, including:

1> MPEG (1,2 & 4)
2> QuickTime
3> Motion JPEG
4> MPEG audio (MP3)
5> AC3 & Dolby Digital audio
6> Ogg Vorbis audio

RealPlayerA tremendous amount of media is available on the internet in Realmedia formats. YOu can hear video clips of popular musicians and comics. You can view events such as conferences, concerts, etc. you can also listen to your favourite radio station when you are out of town.

To play RealMedia and RealAudio content you need ,as you may have guessed by now, the Real Player.

Using a Webcam

With the gtkam window, you can download & work with images from digital cameras. The gtkam window is the frontend to gPhoto2 , which provides support to dozens of digital cameras in Linux. You can view thumbnails of the digital images from the camera, view fullsize images, and download ones that you select from the camera to the hard disk.

Several digital cameras are supported on Linux, which includes various models from Agfa, Apple, Cannon, Casio, Chinon, Epson, Fuji, HP, Kodak, Konica, Minolta, Nicon, Olympus, Panasonic, Philips, Poloroid, Samsung, Sanyo, Sony, Toshiba, etc.
