Isla Myrtle Fraser Sinclair, Mac's Grandmother

Miss Isla as a young girlMiss Islan Myrtle Fraser was born June 15, 1883 in Franklinville, NC, the only child of Henry Winfield Fraser and Pandora Haworth.She married Logan Carson Sinclair in December 1905 and she died in Winter Haven, FL April 10, 1948.

Miss Isla saved all of the letters that she received and even collected some that she had sent. She attended Guilford College and had a number of suitors at that time. Here she is in her room at school pouring tea.

Miss Isla had a lively social life in High Point.

Here she is at the Sinclair Hotel in Virginia Beach with her three sons, Carson, Henry and Ira. She spent most of the Summers there while her husband, Carson stayed in High Point and tended to business. They wrote letters a couple of times a week and sent telegrams too.
