The Speech Connection is a private
speech therapy and pathology practice, committed
to providing quality speech and language therapy,
emphasizing individual patient needs. The
practice is owned and operated by Sue Sorg. Sue
currently holds licences to practice both in
Texas and in Australia. Speech Pathology
Australia defines a speech pathologist as a
professional who "assesses and treats
people who have a communication disability.
Speech pathologists work with all aspects of
communication including speech, writing, reading,
signs, symbols and gestures. They also work with
people who have difficulties swallowing food and
drink."
The Speech
Connection's practice consists of paediatric to
geriatric clients in a variety of settings such
as private office, home health management,
hospital environment, nursing home or skilled
residential premises. Therapy covers a range of
disorders including, but not limited to,
traditional speech and language treatment, voice
and fluency, foreign accent improvement, mild to
moderate/severe head trauma, mild to severe right
and left sided aphasia, dysarthria, mild to
severe dysphagia, and experience with Modified
Barium Swallow studies. Treatment can be provided
independently or as part of a multi-disciplinary
team.
