Principle |
Description |
1. Usable |
Usability is important to website design because if it's
missing, the site can alientate or confuse the user, as well
as detract from whatever your main message, product or service is.
|
2. Consistency |
maintain a consistent data look to your website.specify the use
of font and color.for example: don't use too many different color.
use restraint and stick to a simple color pallete.
Remember to test for color blind issues by checking everything
is readable in grayscale or by downloading color palletes for different
forms of color blindness.
|
3. Accessibility |
Accessibility is becoming increasingly important, especially if your site is educational or government based. Accessibility to everyone, regardless
of browser, platform, operating system, plug-in or disability is important when designing a website.
|
4. Simple |
Try to keep the website as simple as we can. Research has shown people can only remember 7 items. on a computer screen people can only remember 5,plus or minus 1. An additional thing on the website may bring confusion to the visitor. |
5. Clear |
A good design is considered clear where the content of the website is easily understandable. For example : we may use some images or picture to describe the content of particular pages. |
6. Appropriate |
The metatags of the website must match the content of the website. It may keep the visitor going through the website they want. |
7. Appeal |
Provide what it is suppose to and meet what looking for from the visitor. |
8. Understanding the Audience |
Every web site should be designed with an understanding of intended audience, and their technical limitation in mind. |
9. Good design should be seamless, almost invisible |
Good design helping the site communicate it's goal with as little effort as possible on the part of the user. |
10. Use navigation |
Navigation is probably the most important aspect to a website. It can be as indicator to the visitor where they are, where they can go and where they have already been. |
