One of the biggest things people almost always remember about Final Fantasy VII is the Love triangle that forms between Cloud, Aeris, and Tifa. Both Tifa and Aeris show feelings toward our main guy. Opinions vary on who Cloud liked best before Aeris died. They did this because of the long ongoing battle between Tifa and Aeris fans, and the dating sequences. (yes Cloud can go on a date with either of them, but those are based on points, and it's kinda confusing to say right here) So here is what I think. Cloud liked Tifa at first, then he started to get to know Aeris more and liked her better. After meeting Aeris, Cloud became softer. And after she died he became cold and thought of only revenge. It wasn't until after that, that he started to relize everything he'd been missing. I still think that Cloud thought of Tifa as a sister he should protect. But that's just me...
