Sugar Jones Autograph Session, June 6th, 2001.
I found out about Sugar Jones' autograph signing when I went to future shop, after the Pokemon League, on the Saturday before it happened. I know from when I knew about it, that I had to go. I just bought their single, "Days Like That," and I had their music video recorded on VHS many times. I knew I was starting to have a growing interest in them. I asked my dad if I could go, but he said, "I can't take the day off, ask mom." I was like "Uh ok, where is 1740 Broadway and Pine?" My dad started to laugh and said "That's way in downtown Vancouver, I highly doubt that mom will drive all the way over there! Ask her when she is in a good mood though..."
So, when we got home I ran through the door and right to my mom and I asked her. She started to think and then she asked me some questions about them, and I answered in the most non-shocking way possible. She then said, "I'll think about it," which, with my mom, means yes. So I was so excited, and I was boasting to my friends, both over the Internet and in real life. Most of them were like "Who are Sugar Jones...?"
It was like Tuesday when I asked my Mom again. She said, "Yeah I'll take you," I was like, "YAY THANK YOU THANK YOU!" I was really happy. My dad couldn't believe that my mom was gonna drive all the way downtown! It was cool though, because I was going to meet Sugar Jones!
On like, Thursday, my mom and I went to get the camera, and we drove down there, and tried to figure out where the parking was. It was really nice down there, So we went into the future shop to take a look around. There, I bought another Sugar Jones CD, cause the last one was in really bad condition, I wanted a good copy for them to autograph. We got home, and it didn't really hit me that I was going to meet them, until I got there the next day.

On Friday morning, I got up at about 11am. I watched Jenny Jones and my mom got home at 12. I wanted to leave at 1, to get there at 2, cause I thought that the line was gonna be huge, but we left at 2, and got there at 3. After fighting about where to park, I got to the line. It didn't appear huge, but it was, because the line went up, then down, then up again, and I was on the last part, but in the middle of that.
About 10 minutes later, a huge truck with Z95.3 on it came, and everyone started to scream cause they thought it was Sugar Jones. The DJ's came out and entertained us for the whole time, which was awesome. First, they handed out free drinks, which was stupid because my mom bought me a Diet Coke. So I didn't want it. Still, while waiting in line, it still didn't hit me that I was going to meet Sugar Jones, so I was just waiting in line nonchalant. It was really boring, waiting in line for 3 hours, but it was well worth it.
TV people came, including the Vancouver's local channel (which I don't get) and Global. Whenever the camera was pointing at one spot of people, there was screaming, then when it pointed another part, more screaming, and more screaming and more screaming and more screaming and I was so sick and tired of the screaming. After Z95.3 handed out free stuff, like coupons and free samples, it was almost time to meet them. Actually, it was time. It was 5:30, and that's when they were supposed to get there. They were 15 minutes late! So anyway, some ugly fat lady came out and yelled, "SUGAR JONES HAS ARRIVED!" Everyone started screaming and I just blurted out a little, "Yay!" It took about 5 minutes to get into the store and 5 minutes to get in the line to get Sugar Jones' autograph. When the line moved and I was in visibility of the group, I snuck a picture. When I got to the front of the line, the really big scary security guard was like, "Take as many pictures as you like. They all will sign 1 item of your choice. Please no hugging, because we have to get 1000 people through in 1 hour. Otherwise, have fun!" Then it was my turn to go...
There was a table with the 5 girls, Mirella, Andrea, Maiko, Sahara, and Julie. The first one to sign my CD cover was Mirella. She said, "Hello!" and while I was shaking, I snapped a picture and said "I love your music you guys are so great!" and she was like "Aww your so sweat!" Then, Andrea signed the CD cover, I said the same thing to her, and she smiled and said, "Thank you!" and she passed the cover to Maiko. Maiko seemed to be really snobby, cause I said, "I love your music it's so awesome!" She said, "Ok," @_@ Next was Sahara. She is my 2nd favorite member, and she is from Vancouver, which is cool. I said, "You're really cool I love your voice!" She said, "Thank you so much Phil!" (It said my name on a post-it note that the Future Shop people gave out to us. (You can see it in one of the pictures)) And she passed the CD Cover to Julie... Now she is my favorite one, and I was soooooooo nervous. (While this was happening, I was taking pictures lol) She signed her name, and then signed "To Phil" At the corner, and I said, "Hi Julie, I just want to let you know that your my favorite!" And she looked up, and said "AAAW! Thank you so much!" Then, I took a picture of her. I was shaking and I was so nervous. I walked away and snapped 1 more picture of the girls.

When I walked to the elevator, I looked down at all the antsy people, and they screamed @_@. (They did that with everyone they saw going around the corner.) I went down the elevator, and to the car. My mom was like, "So how was it?" and I started to cry and I said, "They were so friendly!" It was so great!
I got home, and I wanted to get the pictures developed, but my mom and dad didn't want to take me to London Drugs... =( So I had to wait for a whole night, till I could go to the London Drugs by the Pokemon League. I went there on Saturday, (Today) and dropped off the film, hoping that the pictures would turn out. Then, at 12:00pm, I went to pick them up. I got them, opened them up right away, looked through for the picture of Julie, and screamed, "IT TURNED OUT IT TURNED OUT!"
Meeting Sugar Jones was sooo great. I would do it again if they come back to do another one. They better!
