Gardening in Containers, Revised Edition (Ortho Books, 1983) I found this book very useful. It's written in layman's language which makes it easy to read and understand for us amature gardeners. It is repleat with illustrations and charts. I think it makes a good primer for beginners.
Conatainer Gardens (The National Home Gardening Club, 1997) This wonderfully illustrated guide to container gardening provides everything you need to know about the subject. It features an elaborate array of selection profiles which help make designing your garden easier.
