At first he planed to be a fine
art artist but he turn into a graphic designer later he
discovered himself a skillful photographer doing the job of
creative art director in the imagination world of Ricky Heng
photo illustration.
Ricky Heng was born on August 13
1968,in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia. As a secondary school
student, Ricky was actively involved in fine art &
design which led him to pursue his further studies at the
Malaysian Insitute of Art, majoring in graphic design &
later continue his studies in computer graphics. Ricky began
his career as a graphic designer at an advertising agency.
He continued this line of work at a few agencies for some
years.
But as he was deeply in love with
the art of photography, he has turned his serious hobby into
a career as a professional photographer. At present, Ricky
is attached to the SUN
newspaper, a local English daily, as a press
photojournalist.
As a press photographer combined
with the knowledge of graphic design, Ricky's portfolio
demonstrates bold and innovative use of colour, along with
the contrast of black & white in the design element of
his images to solve boring composition and to bring out the
mood & concept in his pictures.

Besides fine art & design in
photography, Ricky also specialises in digital Photo
illustration by using digital photo retouching in photoshop
applacation especially when faced with simple boring daily
assignment where impact is needed to turn Sun Megazine assignment into complicated conceptual
Megazine cover assignment.
As a proffesional creative
photographer who always maintains the consistency in finding
ways to solve problems in complicated photography
assignments with tight deadlines, Ricky Heng always works
his way out based on a modern saying "always
find an excuse to brew tea" where he himself and his tea-loving
friends share artistic moments on tea ceremonies to ease
pressure & tension. This is
important to Ricky Heng in obtaining calmness &
inspiration to mind & body for starting a fresh new day
where assignments can appear to be "beauty in the eyes &
music to the ears".
Ricky Heng's creative effort in

step into the wolrd of Malaysian publiscation espacially the
