How Tré got his name: When Frank(Tré) was just a little tike living in Mendicino, Calif., his nearest neighbor was the infamous Lawrence "Larry" Livermore, who founded Lookout Records. When Larry decided to start a band, he recruited Frank to play drums for them. Larry changed Frank's name to Tré, and the Lookouts were born.
How Tré got involved with Green Day: After Green Day's original drummer John left, Bill and Mike went on a search for a new one. Tré, at that time, was still with the Lookouts, but they were about to break up anyway. So, with Larry's blessing, Tré went to join Green Day. It took all of the guys a while to get along well together, but they flowered into what we now know as Green Day, the best band on the Earth.
