Description:

First of all: this is NOT a "Greatest Hits" compilation! Its purpose is very different: complete the collection, gathering the tracks that aren't on any of the original albums.
So, "you have the other 13 albums, and this one, you have everything that The Beatles (...), commercially issued during its remarkable reign", as stated on the liner notes of Volume 2.
These tracks include all single-only songs, plus some "alternative versions" of Love Me Do (the first single release), Get Back (single release), Across the Universe ("Wildlife" version, issued on a charity album), and Let It Be (single release).

The liner notes include comments on all songs, extracted from Mark Lewisohn's book, The Beatles Recording Sessions, which detail the history of each song. On both CD and LP, these notes are in the original English, not translated, a usual practice in recent years in Brazil. (on the other hand, in the 60's everything was translated).

This album has a curious format: on vinyl it is a double album, but on CD are two albums, sold separately. The cassettes are separated, but sold together in a shrink wrap package, and have the covers of the CDs, in the same style of the remastered collection (silver background).

The gatefold cover of the LP is clearly divided between the volumes: the front section is black and has the tracks, notes and photos of Volume 1 inside; the back section is white and has the same for Volume 2. The back cover has also the list of all tracks, under the logo.

Because of the black cover of the LP edition, some people call it "Álbum Preto" (Black Album), as an opposite to the White Album...
