Riffage.com features UKU MERI as
"Classical Artist of the Week" March 10-16, 2000

[March 6, 2000]  - - - E-mail sent to Meri Music from Riffage.com announced  "Congratulations! You have been selected to be Riffage.com's featured "Classical" artist for the week of 3/10 through 3/16...".  With that news, Meri Music artist UKU MERI has "officially" entered the realm of Classical music (which is shocking in that most of his work wouldn't necessarily fit into the staunchy image of what most would consider Classical, but that is merely based on popular hearsay).  Here are some nice things said at the Riffage.com site:

"Uku Meri offers solo instrumental works that are created using synthesizers, piano and some percussion. The style is a mixture of classical, soundtrack, earthy and surreal electronics, new age -- not the "wallflower" new age -- and world music influences. This can best described as visual music --
close your eyes and envision the personal spaces that the music evokes."

"Acoustic & Electronic blending of many different genres - the net results being "visual imagery". Too many contrasts, dynamics, and influences to be lumped into the "New Age" category, too much electronics to be lumped into "Classical", and too much diversity to be lumped into any single category (besides "Instrumental")."
