Many of the albums reviewed in Reels of Dreams Unrolled are difficult or impossible to find in even the best record stores. The following dealers and labels are some of the best sources for progressive rock.

The Artist Shop

Boheme Music

A new source for a wide range of new and old music emerging out of the former Soviet Union. Some very interesting progressive bands are among Boheme's ranks.

CD Euroxpress

A mail order service company specializing primarily in rare, collectible and hard to find import progressive and psychedelic rock CDs and LPs.

Cuneiform Records/Wayside Music

Wayside music is the mail order company and Cuneiform is the record label. Cuneiform is one of the most progressive labels in the world. Univers Zero, Heldon, Nebelnest, Happy Family and several other progressive/avant-garde artsists have found a home on Cuneiform. Wayside's catalog offers all Cuneiform releases and a wide and constantly changing selection of various obscure progressive and avant-garde CDs. Wayside's prices are excellent and it is a very reliable company, but the service can be a little slow. Orders usually arrive in three to five weeks.

Discipline Global Mobile

Discipline Global Mobile is King Crimson's record label. All of King Crimson's CDs, as well as various others of interest to Crimheads and progressive music fans are available through their mail order company.

Forced Exposure's on-line catalog is extremely extensive. The selection is very similar to Wayside Music's, but probably even more in depth. It also branches out into some avant-punk type stuff most progressive rock fans may or may not be interested in.

The Laser's Edge is a smaller label and mail order company. The prices are good (sometimes very cheap) and service is quick. A good place to go for prog-metal. Send $2 or 4 IRCs to the above address for a catalog.

Moon June Records

A brand new label that will be releasing some good stuff.

Musea

This record label and mail order company is one of the biggest in the prog world. Its specialty is reissuing CDs by French prog bands.

MusiCDirect is Musea's new searchable database. Details, cover art and MP3s of over 8,000 albums (many of which are rare or out of print) are available here.

MP Records

A new Italian label which specializes in obscure Italian music, both new and reissues.

Northside

Northside is an American label releasing some startlingly good Scandinavian folk music, much of it with modern twists that might interest the adventurous progger. Väsen and Hedningarna are among their best bands.

The Progressive Rock Trading Post

A good place to buy or trade used prog CDs and LPs with a friendly and honest guy.

The Progressive Rock Used CD Shop

Another good place to buy or trade used prog CDs. CDs are listed along with the seller's e-mail address. Contact them and work out a deal. Lots to choose from.

Round Sounds

A nice selection of new and used LPs and CDs at good prices. A very good site for prog LP fans.

7th Records

This is Christian Vander's record label and is home to the amazing Magma and other French progressive/zeuhl/jazz artists like Patrick Gauthier and Offering. The website is in French and English.

If I had to recommend only one mail order company, it would be Syn-Phonic, which is also a record label. The Syn-Phonic catalog has the widest selection of progressive rock I have seen anywhere. Service is very quick and reliable. Orders have been known to arrive in less than a week.
