Meow...![]()
Me as a kitten. My name is Paws. I am a black shorthair female feline who lives with Lady Shel. I finally was able to convince mom that I deserved a place on the Net too. Believe me, it took some convincing to get her to give me some space here. [ Paws Photo Album ] First of all, don't confuse me with the Cyber-Kitty named "Paws" that mom has on her Cyber-Pets page. *preen* I'm much more stunning! *purr* *looks at Cyberkitty graphic again* *wonders who taught mom how to draw?* Mom finally scanned some pictures of me, and you can look at them in the Paws Photo Album link above. (Mom breaks in): Hey, I'd like to see you draw with a mouse! Paws: *looks at mom with confusion* You draw with a mouse? I thought all mice were good for was chasing and eating? Mom: What would you know about mice?? You're an indoor kitty. You wouldn't know a mouse if one was standing right next to you! Paws: Well, I know I wouldn't draw with it, no matter what. *proceeds to start grooming herself, ending the conversation* Mom: Now I know why they say never act with animals. They always know just how to upstage you. *sigh* Paws: *cocks head and looks at mom* Wasn't *I* the one that was supposed to be talking here? Mom: *grumble* Ok ok, dictate away. Back to me... *purr* I am 5 years old. Mom and dad got me from the local Humane Society when I was just six weeks old. I was lucky that the Humane Society found me. Some children were being very naughty to my litter mates and myself, and we didn't have a home of our own, so there was nowhere for us to run to. I remember it like it was yesterday...
*fade to dream sequence* I was in a cage with my litter mate. It was warm enough, much better than living on the streets, but I wished for a real home. These two tall people came in the room where I was kept, and started looking around. The woman looked at several of the cats, but the man seemed more interested in the Laborador Retriever in the cage next to mine. (No accounting for taste.. Dogs... ewww.) I stood up in my cage, hoping to attract their attention. A third lady came in the room and asked the man and lady if they needed help. They said they came to see the kitten they had called about. 'The female calico with extra toes.' I brightened when I heard them mention female, but saddened as I wasn't a calico. I hadn't even seen a calico around. I gave a small *meow* and the lady that worked for the Humane Society told the people they were misinformed, the only kitten they had with extra toes was the little black one. (She then pointed at me.) I got hopeful. I did so want to have a real home. The lady took me out of the cage and handed me to the tall lady. I looked up at her with my bright eyes and gave a little *meow*. (I know how to turn on the charm when I need to.) She said "Oh, she's so cute! I want her!" The man was still interested in the dog, however. Why, I have no idea. Dogs are so messy. Not tidy like us cats. *purr* Before I knew what was happening, I was put in a large box and the top was closed. Several holes were opened near the top, but I was scared. I hoped they weren't going to take me back to the place with the mean kids. Soon, my new mom opened the top and took me out. They had made a stop for some lunch and we headed home. My mom then gave me my first bite of human food. It was a piece of a meat that mom called a McDonald's cheeseburger. Yummy. I ate it. My mom said "A kitten just like her mom...loves McDonalds! We stopped and they put me back in the box again and I felt movement once more. Then they opened the box and put me on the ground in a room next to a litterbox. Well, after that trip home, I sure did need to use the litterbox, and I did so. Mom was so happy that I was already trained. Gee, what did she think I was going to do, mess up the carpet or something? Hmmm.. She called me her "Good Baby", and that is a name that has stuck, even though I am most certainly not a baby anymore. *purr* *end dream sequence* Today, I still live in the same mobile home with my mom and dad. I even like to fetch toys for some reason. Maybe a part of me is trying to please my dad who always wanted a dog. Of course, I have to WANT to fetch, and it has to be a toy I want to play with. *purr* But, I guess I am a bit different than other cats. My mom always says I'm part dog. What slander! *growl* My favorite things to do are sleep on my soft fleece covered pillow on the couch, sit in the window and growl at people passing by, and run around the house like crazy in the middle of the night and knock things off the end tables, bookcases, the computer desk, you name it. *gives wide cat smile* Oh, and how could I forget?I like to watch the fish. This is my pad... I hope you enjoyed your stay. Oh, before I forget, my mom has enrolled me in some feline type clubs. You can see their emblems below.
