It doesn't matter what style music you play all have one thing in common: harmonies, those that have'em gig those that don't get the leftovers. Harmony processors are like having another musician in the band without having to bring more beer to pratice. All harmony processors will work with instruments and vocals, but the quality of the harmonies will vary. Some manufactures adress vocal and instrument processors separately. But all of them are trying to help us live in harmony.
Even the pros get confused about compression. Most say i don't know , Quick........does a kick drum require a higher or lower compression ratio than a bass guitar? When you compress an entire mix, use peak or RMS compression? What curve sounds better on vocals...... hard knee or soft knee?
