Welcome to the birthplace of the Beatles

Liverpool, home of the scousers

I visited the city last week for the third time as part of a photo session
for this site. And if you haven't been to Liverpool, I would love for you to
take a look at this site and see exactly what you are missing....

MAGICAL MYSTERY TOUR

Take a ride on an authentic Magical Mystery Tour bus, a real sight for saw eyes.
On the tour you will be taken, for two hours, around the famous sights of the city.
Places such as Strawberry Fields....

And right under the blue suburban skies of Penny Lane....

To Mathew Street, where you will find the Cavern Club....

You will also get a chance to see the former homes of the Beatles, where they spent their
childhood and teen years.
It was Paul's Forthlin Road house that was opened this year to the public. You will
visit the house on the tour, but you won't go inside. Unfortuantely only 14 people at
a time can enter and there are too many people on the tour.
However, you can go in the house if you book to go on the National Trust's Forthlin Road
tour. For information on that, see our Forthlin Road site

LIVERPOOL'S DOCKS AND PIER HEAD

Also, don't just spend your time there as a Beatles fan. Soak up the Liverpudlian atmosphere
by strolling along pier head and visiting the Pier Head cafe and shop.
Take a ferry 'cross the Mersey, which I can tell you is absolute value for money! The ferry cruise
is at least 45 minutes long and has an incredibly intetresting narrative that explains the history
of the busy sea port.

And do not miss the Albert Docks.

The former home of 'This Morning' (the Richard and Judy Show) and still the home of Fred's weather map.
The docks offer intriguing little shops and cafes aswell as the Beatles Story Museum, the Tate Gallery,
the Maritime Museum, many bars and pubs aswell as the delights of the Mersey ships and ferries.

The Beatles Story Museum is also a treat. For only £4.95 you can take a stroll through the entire history
of the fab four.
You can take a stroll through Hamburg, down a reconstruction of 60's Mathew Street, into an excellent
reconstruction of the Cavern which shows footage of the Beatles and was actually seen in the video for
'Free as a Bird'. You can go to Abbey Road and see the lads recording aswell as an actual mellotron used
on Sgt. Pepper.
But the most amazing part of the museum is the wonderful Lennon 'Imagine' room, where you will see a
beautiful reconstruction of Lennon's Tittenhurst Park living room seen on the film 'Imagine'.

The entire museum has recently been dedicated to the memory of Linda McCartney and a beautiful wall
display has been added at the exit.
