Foolish Games

*In the kitchen

“So why did you take so long getting in here Becca?” Cassidy smiled innocently, fully aware of what probably happened before, she just liked seeing Becca squirm.
“Umm....nothing....I forgot my um......” Becca blushed.
“Your...” AJ continued, grinning.
“My..oh shutup..” Becca said becoming flustered.
“Mmmhmmm....” Cassidy laughed.
“My TOWEL! That was it! I forgot my towel so Bri had to go get me one!!” Becca finally got out.
“Sure Bec....” Kev teased.
“Its true!!” Becca defended.
“Uhuh....” AJ wiggled his eyebrows at Becca.
“Guys!” Becca yelled, beginning to blush again.
“Ok ok, we’ll drop it..” Cassidy relented.
“Thank you!” Becca said exasperated and went back to wiping a plate.
The other three just exchanged knowing glances, and Becca decided to change the subject.

“Soooo anyway...what’s up with that Mandy girl? I don’t mean to sound rude but...” Becca inquired.
Cassidy mumbled something under her breath that no one could hear but they all knew it wouldn’t have been the nicest comment in the world.

“Umm....” Kevin began slowly, choosing his words carefully. He continued.
“Well, in her defence she never used to act like that. I’ve known her and her family for years..and she used to be really sweet and kind, that's why I was happy when her and Nick first hooked up, but that’s pretty much all changed now. She really isn’t the least but supportive of Nick or the group, and I know that hurts Nick a lot. They've got their issues, but they've been together a long time, so they stick it out...but now its changed, she acts as if we’re almost a threat...ever since she got her record deal...” Kevin sighed.

“She’s got a record deal?” Cassidy raised her eyebrows in suprise.
AJ nodded. “Yeah...the album is due out next June...”
“Is she any good?” Becca asked.
AJ and Kevin looked at each other.
“Not bad...” AJ replied with a smile.
“Ok well I guess we're done here...I’m gonna see where everybody else is.” Becca said walking into the lounge room.

Brian was sitting on the leather couch playing the guitar and singing a song softly to himself. She stood at the doorway listening to him sing.

“He has the most beautiful voice...” Becca thought to herself.
She made her way in and sat next to him on the couch. He quickly stopped singing when he saw her.
“That was so beautiful...don’t stop!” Becca smiled.
‘Thanks...” Brian replied shyly.
“Who wrote it?” Becca asked.
“Well actually I did.." Brian smiled.
"Wow...what's it called..and, what's it about and stuff?" Becca replied impressed.
"Ummm...well, it’s called ‘That’s what she said’, and...I wrote it when my ex-girlfriend broke up with me..” Brian asked a little uncomfortable.

“Cool..you’re very talented..” Becca beamed.

“He’s single!!” Becca secretly jumped for joy.

Brian snapped back.
“Why are you bringing Leighanne up? There’s a beautiful, sweet girl in front of you and you’re talking about your ex??” Brian scolded himself.

He smiled at Becca.
"Come on lets go outside with the others..."

*Outside* AJ, Kevin and Cassidy looked at each other amused as Becca and Brian joined them outside. Becca shot her a death glare, to which Cassidy responded with a cheesy smile.

Nick laughed at Cassidy's face from the other side of the circle.
Cassidy noticed this and looked at him, the smile falling off her face.

"I need to talk to you..." He mouthed to her.
Cassidy remained still and silent.
Mandy looked at Nick, then to Cassidy and back and Nick disgusted and got up to leave but as she did so, she knocked Becca’s right arm which had developed a nasty bruise from earlier that day. Becca gave out a small cry of pain.

“Shit, you ok Bec?” Cassidy asked forgetting about what had just happened.
The others immediately looked at her concerned.
Becca nodded her head not wanting to make a big deal.
“You all good?” Brian looked into her eyes kindly.

"Yeah I'm fine..." Becca replied embarassed
"You want some ice?” Brian asked concerned.

“God! She’s not gonna die...” Mandy whispered rudly. Nick looked at her wearily.
