Hey 'Gazers ...
Well ... it's 4 a.m. here and I'm still in a daze. The whole show was
like a blur to me ... it went by so damn fast.
The day before the show, I received an e-mail from Nancy a.k.a. Breeze.
She wanted me to print out this letter to give to Jeff from Silver Jet. It
concerned fan reviews and the Constellation.
On the day of the show, I woke up early ... very tired but too excited
to go back to sleep. We left the house at 4:00 p.m. and got to DV8 at about
4:40. The line was small ... about 15 people in line. I had the pleasure
to meet, Kelly (Keanux), Jane, Angela (Flame) ... I wasn't formally
introduced to Meredith but I did see her!
While waiting in line, we noticed a white van pull up ... I recognized
the Silver Jet boys and got a bit excited. I just stood there lookin' at them
but didn't do anything. Then I just remembered the letter I was to give to
Jeff. Jeff had run off into the Dogstar bus and I was too chicken to go
there and knock on the door myself and hand the letter to Jeff. So, my bud
Kayte and Kelly knocked the door. Out came a cute, young, blond ... I
handed it to him and mentioned a bit about the Constellation. He said
thanks. I went back in line ... the door to Silver Jet's van was open so I
just watched what went on in there. I saw Jeff read it ... went over it a
few minutes then handed it over to Luke who looked at it for a while. :o)
Anyway, I was just chatting up with my friends and the security dude
when all of a sudden my friend and the guard says, "Look, there's Keanu!" They
didn't yell it. I spun around and there went Keanu (with a big shit eating
grin on his face) along with Bret into the club. Both looked amazingly
handsome. Both had just arrived in a taxi. After that happened ... it
shocked most of the gals, they began to whimper a bit ... "OMG! That was
Keanu!" Minutes later, Rob came walking by and we all just waved at him
while some were taking pics. :o)
We stood in line for, like, 3 hours. The line did get pretty long ...
but only about 200 people showed up at the show. It was good though ... not
too crowded.
We got in, I took my spot, left-center stage ... a little squished but
could see the stage very well. It took a while for the first opening band
to set up ... but it was worth the wait. Chaser was a bitchin' band ...
the lead singer, Jason, was extremely cute. He played with the audience
and stuck his tongue out a lot. In the end, he threw Chaser stickers ... I
ended up with 3 to take home. Jason later came out into the audience,
during Silver Jet's set up, and did more sticker give outs and chatted
quickly with most of us. He's a real cool guy.
Next ... Silver Jet! And man, did they ROCK!!! Luke's voice was
different from the others but it sounded hella good! My fave song now is,
"Plastiqa". :o) They were friendly with the audience saying that they
were glad to be back in Seattle ... Luke did a bit of chattering and the
crowd seemed to really love 'em. At the end of their show, a roadie gave a
lucky fan Grant's drumstick.
The stage set up for Dogstar took forever ... my feet ached as well as
my head! I felt as if I was gonna faint.
But it wall paid off when the lights finally dimmed. I looked to my far
left, into the corner, and saw Keanu (I noticed his Hummer shirt, his manly
walk, and his cigarette) and Bret walking down the steps. The crowd went
wild when they all finally entered the stage. They started immediately
with "Forgive". After that song, the girls went crazy and began wildly
waving to Keanu ... he waved back with a smile.
This show was a lot different than I expected. I expected a fun and
interacting band ... but none of that happened. Were they in a hurry or
what? Bret did say a couple of things after a few songs ... but I could
barely hear his words. At one point, a girl yelled out, "Let's hear some
Shakespeare!" Then Bret looked straight at her and said, "Stop that ..."
and began throwing her (and the people around her) picks. I guess it was a
little fun gesture he did. After each song, Keanu bowed and ran his hands
through his hair ... a couple of fans went wild. Rob did nothing but jam
on his drums.
Their performance was absolutely great. Bret's voice didn't seem to
wear out. He sounded great. Loved the way he rocked with his guitar. I notice
that when he sings, he rolls the words in his mouth and he jerks his head
when hitting high notes. Rob really jammed on the drums ... once in a
while, he made goofy faces while performing. Keanu was so intense ... I
especially loved how he closed his eyes to feel the amplification. Man ...
his arms were flying over those strings! Also, he did get all jumpy in a
few of the songs. But not as "into it" as you other lucky fans were able
to see. Sweat was flyin' everywhere as well.
In the end, Bret thanked us ... and so did Keanu, he just yelled it
out. I also noticed that he did that Islamic Goodbye. It was fascinating to
